After many years of photographing people and pets of all ages, I happened to notice that in particular babies and puppies create about the same level of difficulty when I photograph them. During the sessions, the same tricks work to get their attention: squeaky toys, food bribes, fake coughing, sneezing, clapping and spitting, and of course embarrassing myself by making weird high-pitched noises, barks and squeals. But the end result is always breathtaking – beautiful, bright eyes and stunning expressions from these tiny inquisitive creatures!

Juli-Ann Cialone is an internationally acclaimed photographer based in New York, U.S.A., known for her images featuring both people and pets. She has received some of the photography industry’s highest awards – including Master Craftsman, Kodak and Fuji Gallery Awards and PPA International Diamond Photographer of the Year. In 2004, she established the Images to Inspire Program, giving families of potentially terminally ill children free photography sessions, prints and albums. Juli, who only began competing professionally in 2005, has won PPA International Photographer of the Year every year (both in the U.S.A. and in Europe) for her many portraits, photojournalism and albums.
