Descrizione prodotto

Before the Portofino Marine Protected Area (MPA) was established in 1999, the biological habitat of the sea in front of the Portofino promontory was greatly depleted. This was mainly due to an uncontrolled fishing activity both amatuer and professional and also to its high popularity amongst divers. Another source of damage was certainly the noise and the environmental pollution casued by hundreds of boaters who could sail and anchor near the coast.
In the last decade the situation has changed dramatically and, thanks to the creation of the Marine Reserve, the sea has returned to being a real jewel of biodiversity that has nothing less compared to tropical ecosystems.
The aim of ‘The underwater paradise in Portofino’ is that of providing itineraries for divers following the recommendations of those who have been familiar with the promontory for the last twenty years and optimizing diving schemes in order to enjoy the most interesting spots where sea life is at it best.
The 18 diving spots are covered by detailed maps, photos and expert scientific tables which encourage the discovery of the many secrets of those organisms that you can encounter in your explorations.
Each itinerary is classified according to its degree of difficulty and it gives everyone, from experts to mere enthusiasts, the opportunity of a safe and unforgettable experience.
